Frameless European-Style Kitchen Cabinets: Construction, Materials and Finishes

Frameless European-style kitchen cabinets have no face frame on the front of the box. Euromaster Cabinet supplies them to dealers, builders and contractors in the United States from its warehouse in Norcross, Georgia, near Atlanta.

Framed and frameless, side by side

On a framed cabinet, a solid wood frame wraps the front of the box. The frame narrows the opening, and doors either sit inside it or overlap it. On a frameless cabinet, the box sides are the front edge. Doors are full overlay: each one covers the entire front of its box, and the hinge mounts inside.

Storage and access

Removing the frame gives back the width it used to take up. Drawers and roll-outs can run closer to the full interior width, and a double-door cabinet has no center stile in the way, so larger items fit and the back of the shelf is easier to reach.

Inside the cabinet box

Euromaster's 2026 catalog lists the same construction across the cabinet line:

• Box: plywood on every cabinet, with a 4 mm MDF back panel.
• Shelves: 3/4" melamine-faced plywood.
• Drawers: double-wall metal drawer boxes on soft-close, full-extension slides.
• Hinges: soft-close European hinges with 6-way adjustment.

Click assembly

Boxes lock together by hand using Threespine ID®, licensed from Välinge Innovation, which holds the patent. A spring-loaded locking device engages as the panels close and holds the joint under tension, and a Rotalock fitting locks the back panel into the carcase, which squares the box. No screws or glue are needed for the box, and Euromaster puts assembly at under five minutes per cabinet. The Easy Installation page walks through the steps.

Door styles and surfaces

The 2026 lineup has 25 door options: 13 with an MDF core and 12 with an engineered-wood core. Slab doors are 18 mm (about 3/4") thick. The eight finger-pull doors, marked "FP" in the name, are 22 mm (about 7/8") thick and have the pull built into the door, so the front needs no separate handle.

Express: six stocked finishes

• Express Slab, Textured Woodgrain: Anthracite Oak (ash oak), Klimt (natural oak), Rembrandt (chocolate oak) and Monet (white oak). Thermally fused laminate (TFL) over an engineered-wood core.
• Express Slab, High Gloss & Matte: Polar, a high-gloss white acrylic, and Titanium, an anthracite gray in soft-touch matte UV-cured lacquer. Both on MDF cores.

Express finishes are stocked in Norcross. They ship in 3-4 business days or can be picked up at the warehouse the same day.

Exclusive: made to order

• Exclusive Slab, Textured Woodgrain: Pablo, Karina, Leon, Montana and Artemis, oak looks in textured decorative laminate over engineered wood. Karina and Leon run the grain horizontally.
• Exclusive Slab, High Gloss & Matte: Piano in high-gloss black, plus Onyx (black), Willow (sage), Cashmere, Mist (silva) and Phantom (space black) in super matte. UV-cured lacquer on MDF.
• Exclusive Finger Pull, Textured Woodgrain: Karina FP, Liberta FP and Dolce FP, horizontal-grain oak laminate over engineered wood.
• Exclusive Finger Pull, High Gloss & Matte: Blanco FP (white) and Cashmere FP in high gloss; Raven FP (black), Sand FP (cashmere) and Pearl FP (white) in super matte. UV-cured lacquer on MDF.

How the surfaces hold up

• Super matte: a soft-touch, low-sheen surface that helps resist fingerprints, scratches and common household food stains.
• High gloss: a smooth, mirror-like surface that helps resist scratches and food stains.
• Textured decorative laminate: helps resist food stains, and a light-resistant finish helps the color hold over time.
• Care: every surface cleans with a soft cloth and mild soap.

The woodgrain finishes reproduce the look and texture of wood. They are not solid wood or natural wood veneer. Colors can look different under different lighting and on screens, so review a physical sample before choosing. The full comparison is on the Door Construction & Materials page.

Alvic doors

Euromaster also offers Alvic Gloss & Matt and Alvic Textured doors, each with a finger-pull version. They are made from Alvic panels: Luxe and Zenit are MDF boards with a UV-cured lacquer face, Luxe in high gloss and Zenit in matte, and Syncron is a decorative particleboard made from at least 70% recycled material. Alvic's data sheets list Grade 5 stain resistance, 100% antibacterial efficacy at 24 hours (ASTM E2180 / JIS Z2801) and an E05 / CARB2 formaldehyde classification for all three panels. Alvic specifies these doors for indoor cabinetry and not for use as dishwasher front panels.

Warranty

Euromaster's 3-year limited warranty covers cabinets, hinges and drawer glides and is extended to builders, contractors and dealers. Commercial applications are excluded unless agreed in writing.
